Hit up some of our local gems all year round.

Go for a hike, a swim and  a picnic. Click here for a full list of provincial parks. Some of the provincial parks below have some special events during the summer.

You can take a scavenger hunt sheet with you or just see what you can find. We have found herons, beavers, weasels and more just a short drive outside of Winnipeg. Some parks also have great biking trails or playgrounds.

A favourite of mine is La Barriere because it is just outside the city (though technically in city limits) and has a bunch of different paths as well as a really cool bridge. You often see people kayaking or hiking on the Seine River there. I have seen families snowshoeing there as well! It also has cross country ski trails in the winter.
