Fort Whyte is a great way to reconnect with nature with lots of events and activities geared towards kids.

Located in the south end of Winnipeg off of McGillvary Boulevard, this huge property features a ton for families to do during all seasons of the year. With five lakes and over 7 kilometres of trails and a herd of Bison, you can make a day of exploring at Fort Whyte.

During summer you can explore the wetlands and check out the floating boardwalks, bird feeding stations and bison grazing on grass. For kids 12 and over, you can learn to paddle with canoe and kayak lessons. You can also try fishing on the lake or go on a bison safari. In the winter try snoeshowing on the many trails, skating on the frozen lake, go ice fishing or hit the toboggan run!

The centre is open all year long and features educational exhibits and a cafe where you can grab some lunch. They also have special events throughout the year. Visit their website for the most current information.
